Quick Glance
Proto World’s Fastest XRD Residual Stress and Retained Austenite Measurement Systems for over twenty years Proto has been designing and manufacturing x-ray diffraction (XRD) systems for residual stress and retained austenite measurement. With its patented High Speed PSSD X-ray detector technology, Proto offers a comprehensive line-up of XRD instruments for both laboratory, field  and in-line applications with advanced features such as Automated Residual Stress Mapping.
Models for wide range of applications:
iXRD   A proven performer in the field, laboratory and shop floor. As pioneers in field residual stress characterization, we have distilled over twenty years of stress measurement experience into this unit.  We made it small and light, enabling ease of transport and positioning. We made it fast to maximize the number of measurements taken in a day. We made it nimble with our modular field stand approach, adaptable software, easy to operate controls and our uniquely designed goniometers
iXRD–Combo -  Proto has designed the iXRD Combo to allow easy transformation from a lab system to a portable system.  The iXRD Combo combines the versatility of the iXRD - Portable system, with the convenience and safety of a laboratory system.   There's no other system like the iXRD Combo in the world!
LXRD – Provides unsurpassed measurement, repeatability and speed. Designed from top to bottom without compromise for continuous heavy duty use.  The LXRD features a unique Modular Goniometer System (patent pending) that offers the operator a new level of flexibility. The LXRD demonstrates measurement speed unsurpassed by any other residual stress analysis system. Measurements can be performed in as little as few seconds, and after initial setup, can generate compelling data without the presence of an operator.
mXRD - The world's only XRD based stress analysis system designed for harsh environments, built from scratch to be extra tough, water-, temperature- and shock-resistant.
Custom design available for specific applications.
Designed to measure axial stress inside a 50 mm diameter bore, the MG15P enables x-ray diffraction on the inside diameter of piping.
With a 30 mm focal distance and a 16 mm x-ray tube the smaller MG30P is ideal for measuring in tight locations. Can measure inside a 90 mm diameter bore.
With built-in phi axis rotation the MGR40P allows for easy triaxial measurements in the field.
